- Assemble all your spices and measuring spoons, small mixing bowl, jar for storing spice mixes. Using whole spices and grinding them yourself is an option for an even fresher flavor.
- In a small bowl, mix cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice, cloves and any other ground spices you want to add to create your own custom spice mix.
- Use a fork or a small whisk to combine all the spices thoroughly. Make sure the blend is evenly mixed, with no clumps or pockets of any single spice.
- Transfer your freshly made pumpkin pie spice mix to an airtight container. A glass jar with a tight-fitting lid works perfectly. Label the jar with the date to keep track of its freshness.
